The Department of Water and Environmental Regulation undertakes assessments of river health on around 150 sites across the south west. Sites are monitored every 3-5 years and data is collected on water and sediment, aquatic biota, fringing zone, hydrology, aquatic habitat, land use and physical form.
For the Geographe catchment, information is available for the Vasse River, Ludlow River, Mary Brook-Station Gully, Capel River and Carbunup River.
More information and results of the River Health Assessments can be found at Healthy Rivers South-West.
